Mendon - Upton Youth Soccer
General Guidelines for Soccer parents

  • Shin-guards are mandatory at all games and practices.
  • Cleats are optional.
  • No jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings) or hats should be worn while the child participates in a practice or game.
  • Sweat pants and a coat are recommended as the weather gets colder so a child can put something on to stay warm.
  • A coach should be informed before the first game of any health problems a child may have so he/she may act accordingly when playing the child.
  • It is important that the child make practice on time. If a child can not make practice the coach should be informed.
  • It is important that a child arrive at least 15 minutes before game time. This will help the coach in preparation for the game.

FINALLY, while everyone wants to see our children win, learning good sportsmanship, learning how to play soccer as team, and HAVING FUN are much more important than the score. We all want our kids to do their best; but remember...

"It's easier to PLAY the game of soccer from the sidelines than actually
being on the field!!"

As the season progresses, if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please communicate your thoughts to the coach AFTER a game or practice. We all want to make sure soccer is a fun experience for everyone involved!!! YOUR PARTICIPATION is WELCOME and IMPORTANT!
